Safety is the most important part of every Tesla. The Model 3 achieved NHTSA 5-star safety ratings in every category and subcategory.
The motor makes 235bhp and 277lb ft, so 0-60mph takes a still-brisk 5.3 seconds. The top speed is capped at 140mph. More than quick enough.
Tesla claims 254 miles of range, but in reality you’ll get closer to 220 miles from the 55kWh battery, which can be juiced at any CCS-compatible rapid charger (not just the company’s own Superchargers). A 7.4kWh wall-box will brim the battery in eight hours.
Inside the Model 3 really does feel like the future. The front cowl is low, so forward visibility is excellent (as is the sensation of speed). The driving position is good, and interior as well screwed-together as we’ve seen in any Tesla. They really are getting better.
The screen, which replaces basically every button you’d find in a normal car interior. It’s quick to respond and graphically very smart, It’s spacious, efficient, comfortable, reasonably-priced and well-equipped.
It still remains Tesla’s best car and a brilliant package overall.
This comes with a Tesla basic vehicle Warranty until November 2023, Battery limited warranty until November 2027 or 100,000 miles, and also a Drive unit Warranty until November 2023 or 100,000 miles.
