Jaguar’s first attempt at an SUV and what a success it is!
The F-Pace S. What a gorgeous car finished in Firenze Red! The front end reveals several gloss black vents for better air circulation, sleek LED headlights and the standout “S” logo in the centre grille which reminds you and others that you’re driving something a little more special… The roofline swoops beautifully down to the large rear spoiler accompanied by a set of roof bars that follow. Moving to the rear, there’s a very sloped rear window which extends the boot space and there are also another set of sleek LED lights. Huge 22″ two-tone 10-spoke alloy wheels carry you everywhere you go and lastly, there’s a gloss black rear diffuser and dual protruding chrome exhaust pipes that nicely finish off its menacing look.

Inside the F-Pace’s is a lovely place to be. Fitted, are a set of black leather electrically adjustable sports seats which also have 3 different options of heating preferences, complimented by a leather-wrapped multifunctional steering wheel with aluminium accents and shifter paddles. Everything is finished in the highest quality materials and it’s so well suppressed from the outside. You are blessed with a tilt and slide panoramic sunroof and a large infotainment touchscreen with everything you need such as SatNav, HD Radio, Bluetooth Telephone Connection, Bluetooth Media and all your system settings and features. There is a button next to your screen with a P and a parking space on it and that button will park your Jaguar for you!

Jaguar takes great pride in their safety and that’s why you get some great driver assistance features in this car. Forward alert, Lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition to name a few but the most impactful (no pun intended) would be the Autonomous Emergency Braking which will break for you if it feels you are about to crash into something!

Driving the F-Pace is delightful too. You get an 8-Speed automatic transmission which is just phenomenal because of it’s almost instantaneous and super smooth shifts. A 3.0 V6 turbo diesel engine is in the S model which has 296hp and a whopping 516lbft of torque! That means you get a very respectable 0-60 time of 5.8 seconds but also real-world fuel consumption figures in the mid-40’s! There are 4 drive modes you can choose between; Rain/Ice/Snow, Eco, Normal and Dynamic. Rain/Ice/Snow, Eco and Normal all speak for themselves but Dynamic is a little more interesting… It heightens your driving experience completely by altering the suspension, engine responsiveness, gear shift effectiveness and steering feedback for the most performance out of your Jaguar. The clever AWD system is rear wheel biased but will send power to the front wheels when needed, keeping you stuck to the road as much as possible and the Adaptive Surface Response system is also implicated into this car which reads the grip level underneath the car’s wheels by the millisecond and adjusts its throttle map, torque split, stability and traction control settings to suit.
