The Ford Focus RS does a fantastic job of putting practicality, good looks and fun all together into one car.
These cars look amazing. There are huge air vents on the front bumper, mean looking Bi-Xenon headlights and large twin exhaust pipes protruding from an aggressive rear diffuser. There’s also a large rear spoiler that really rounds off the “Rally Sport” looks.
Inside you’ll find Ford’s top of the line ‘SYNC 3’ 8″ touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, Sat Nav, Reversing camera Voice commands and a USB input along with a 3.5m jack. This has been fitted with the factory sunroof and rear privacy. It’s equipped with the comfortable Recaro sports seats, a leather-wrapped flat-bottomed multifunctional steering wheel and rubber topped aluminium sports pedals to make sure your feet don’t slip off the pedals.
The RS drives phenomenally. A 2.3 litre Cosworth Tuned engine pushing 350hp. It goes from lock to lock in just two turns of the steering wheel which makes it easy to manoeuvre and makes the steering feel very direct. It has four different drives modes that you can switch between at the push of a button. Normal, sport and track are all modes that most other performance cars have that stiffen suspension and steering but the RS jumps to another level because they’ve added… drift mode. This is where 70% of power is sent to the rear wheels and turns the traction control off to make it easier to go intentionally sideways. Drifting… in a Focus.
