Everything about the M3’s mechanical being is made for incredible performance and handling but BMW has also given the M3 the ability to be a daily car. So essentially you have the best of both worlds! There are settings for your throttle response, suspension and steering weight and you can change them all from comfort to sport and to sport plus. Your usual BMW would have a button for changing the whole car’s characteristics from mode to mode but the M3 has the ability to change each individual aspect from mode to mode. And this is where the “M” buttons come in. On your steering wheel are buttons labelled “M1” and “M2”. You can customize these buttons in iDrive and set each driving aspect to your prefered mode so you can have your desired set-up at the quick push of a button!
