Mr Valentino Balboni. If you’ve never heard of him, let me briefly enlighten you. Balboni started at Lamborghini as an apprentice all the way back in 1968 and was soon after asked, by Ferruccio Lamborghini himself, to work with Bob Wallace and test drive the Lamborghinis that had been in for service and help develop and perfect the drive of the new Lamborghinis. Valentino was heavily involved in the production of the Diablo, Murcielago and, obviously, the Gallardo. Balboni had such a strong relationship with Lamborghini that, after his departure from the company in 2008, they made a special car to commemorate his 40 years of service. He was also heavily involved in the production of the car and it was made to be a solely rear-wheel drive car to meet Balboni’s preference. Only 250 Balboni Gallardo’s were built but they sold out and were deemed a huge success so in 2011 they based these LP550-2’s on the Balboni Edition and were sold to the general public.
550hp to your rear wheels is something you have to ultimately respect but Lamborghini did implicate some very intelligent driver assistance systems and produced an extremely safe supercar. The experience driving one of these cars is just an utter privilege. It has everything that the average car doesn’t have, but it does have some very useful everyday features that you would find in your everyday car! The attention to detail is just phenomenal, the materials used are all of the absolute pinnacles of quality and when you start to push your right foot towards the floor, you are loudly reminded that this car is a driving masterpiece. Heads will turn as you drive past, alleyways will echo with the amazing sound coming from the rear and the smile will not leave your face until the vehicle is out of your sight.
Presented in Bianco Monocerus with full black leather seats. The specification includes a transparent engine cover, engine bay lighting, SatNav, Rear Camera, Bluetooth, Front Lifting Gear and the optional E-Gear automatic transmission option.
