Just look at it. The beautiful white paint, the stand out golden wheels, the side skirts and the “Hawkeye” headlights. The white STI mud flaps, the black front splitter and the large rear bumper. All aspects that only Subaru could get away with. Subaru was the company that made huge spoilers and a massive bonnet vents acceptable for the road. There are so many distinctive features and such an incredible past to these cars and that’s why everyone loves them!
Brought into the view of the public and the world by the incredible antics of Colin McRae in the WRC rally, where everyone found their love for the Impreza. It wasn’t all about the winning and the trophies, it was the way that it was driven and the way it entertained people that made everyone love them so much and want one even more!
The interior is so bright with the classic black and blue STI embroidered sports seats and blue carpets. You get some rubber topped sports pedals, electric windows, a JVC head unit and air conditioning. The interior is simple but you don’t buy these cars for the interior… you buy them for the drive.
You turn the key, your dash lights up red and you get that ever so famous Subaru grumble from the Miltek exhaust pipe. The noise gets gradually better the higher the revs and will never fail to put a huge smile on your face. The steering is so direct and the shifter feel is so solid, short and satisfying. The 4WD system, with lockable differential capabilities, is just incredible on any surface and around any corner. The amount of fun you can have in these cars is endless and as a famous man once said, “If in doubt, FLAT OUT!”
The Japnese really know how to make amazing cars…
