The first thing you notice is how much it feels like a miniature Focus ST , the juicy hit of lowdown torque and the fruity engine note.. The ST’s heart lies a 1.6-litre Ecoboost turbo engine that chucks 180bhp and 199lb ft to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox, But this one has the REVO stage 2 remap software which has now tuned the engine right up to 230bhp and 293lb ft which really does have a lot of punch and definitely brings a smile to your face when you listen to the sound of the engine each time you switch through the gears. Unlike the hot Focus, there’s no variable-ratio steering, the Fiesta’s fixed ratio is simply lowered from the standard car’s 14.6:1 to a swifter 13.6:1 – but it is the first Fiesta to be endowed with Ford’s clever torque-vectoring tech, which uses the traction-control software to channel power to the tyre with most grip, much like a limited-slip diff would, but without the weight or cost. The suspension is fitted with Eibach lowering springs which gives the car a greater feeling when turning around corners andsharp bends now this gives you a lot more control of the car almost making the car feel like its stuck to the road. Ford says the initial roll characteristics are reasonably soft in order to strike a good compromise between road and track driving ,  and there’s an all-new, stiffer rear torsion bar.

The exterior of the car has been tweaked to reflect the ST’s sporting intentions, at the rear there’s a twin exhaust and neat integrated diffuser leaving you with no doubt what this car is for. The first thing that will be attracted to your eyes are the 17″ VST BOLA Multi spoke Bronze alloy wheels which truly does look stunning on this car. On the Rear you might notice the ST-2 has had an upgraded Delta styling spoiler raiser which really does give the car a very unique look which personally I really think it looks the part. You may also notice the Fiesta comes with lightly tinted front and rear lights plus some TRC headlight eyebrows giving the ST an even more aggressive look to it. The front lights are also day running which was an optional extra from the factory. The ST-2 has had a lot of tasty modifications installed such as follows –  Mountune intercooler 3″ mongoose exhaust , De-cat Downpipe, REVO Air intake , Uprated rear engine Mount , GFB VTA (Blow off Valve) and a Billet Aluminium adjustable short shifter ( currently on the shortest setting).

The Fiesta ST is an inherently nice place to be. It’s comfortable and the controls are well laid-out for ease of use as well as enthusiastic driving. The driving position is excellent, the steering wheel and seat offering plenty of adjustment, and the wheel-mounted controls for the stereo and other functions make life easy. Even visibility is good.Quality impresses throughout and the informative and clear dashboard layout is typical of Ford’s efforts. All three pedals are well spaced and the gearlever is in exactly the right place – even the handbrake has a positive feel to it.Although an unashamedly sporty car, Ford Fiesta ST comfort levels are surprisingly high. The front sports seats are fully heated and very supportive and very well bolstered too , holding you tightly in place through the faster corners.
