The original CLS was the car that started the whole “4-door coupe” category and look how popular they are now! The Audi A7, the BMW 4 series gran coupe and the Porsche Panamera to name a few. This CLS is presented in a gorgeous Obsidian Black with a set of 19″ diamond cut 5-spoke alloy wheels. The swooping roofline finished with a sleek carbon spoiler, the angular air sucking front bumper and the beautiful body lines give this car a delightfully ravishing look.
The interior is packed with tech and all of the most premium materials. Perforated leather heated and cooled seats, half Alcantara multifunctional flat-bottom and topped steering wheel, gorgeous piano black trim pieces and a beautiful gauge cluster finished with aluminium accents that stand out so well. It’s quiet and cushioned which makes it the perfect everyday cruiser but it also has a “slightly” sportier side to it which I’ll get onto in a minute. The infotainment system has everything you need such as SatNav, Radio, Media and all your system settings. All your sound will play through the incredible Harmon Kardon sound system and the last feature I will mention is the tilt and slide sunroof for those wonderful sunny days!
The driving ability of this car is just insane! For such a large car, this thing can shift… fast. 550hp and 590ftlb (with the performance pack it has installed), 3.8-seconds 0-60 time and an incredible top speed of 186mph… Mercedes set this car with the ability to become an absolute monster at the push of a button (AMG button) yet a cool and comfortable cruiser when you want it to be.
The AMG button heightens every driving aspect and gives you the cars full potential but there are also some tamer modes you can switch to; Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Manual. Comfort speaks for itself, Manual gives you use of the steering wheel mounted shifter paddles, Sport tightens up the steering, suspension and throttle response and Sport Plus furthermore tightens up everything Sport does, as well as turning off the traction control…
There is also one more option to switch to on the mode selector and that is RS – Race Start. Press the brake all the way down. Put the car in Sport Plus. Turn the traction into SPORT. Switch the knob to RS. Press the Right Paddle to confirm (yes, you have to confirm it!) While your foot is on the brake, Press down on the accelerator. Release the Brake and hold on!
