These cars are just brilliant. They are like an old friend that you can always rely on! There’s really isn’t much you need in a car.
There’s no doubt, the MK6 Golf is a good looking car. There’s R-Line rear lights that completely change the rear end of the car from the standard ones, a dual protruding exhaust pipe, a lovely set of 17″ two-tone alloy wheels, an aggressive front end, a sleek roof spoiler and even 5 doors! What’s not to like?
On the inside, you’ll find some soft tartan sports seats and an absolutely delightful double-textured leather-wrapped multifunctional steering wheel that is moulded for your hands. Beneath your feet are some aluminium rubber-topped sports pedals and behind the steering wheel are some sports gauges with red needles and that recognisable “Volkswagen” font. The centre console has a radio, a CD Player, an AUX jack and there’s a USB port so you can charge your phone. There’s plenty of room for all the family in there!
Driving this Golf is exactly as you’d expect from any Volkswagen – a really fulfilling experience. The DSG gearbox is just phenomenal. Every change is seamless and almost instant. It’s also extremely satisfying when you use the paddle shifters… With just under 170hp, this car isn’t slow either. You put your foot down and you will really feel that 258lb-ft of torque push you into the back of your seat and you’ll realise that if you do need to put your foot down (for whatever reason…) you can! All this, encased in comfort and returning great MPG!
