The A45 AMG is just phenomenal. Just look at how special it looks. The aero pack on this car gives its such an aggressive look with the front splitter, read diffuser, front fins and roof spoiler. The night pack also adds to the look with the black mirror caps, black exhaust tips, rear privacy and a stunning set of 19″ matte black AMG wheels. Underneath all the body styling and “race” looks, you still have Mercedes’ beautiful body lines up the bonnet and spanning from the wheel arches along to the rear quarter panels. Styling at it absolute finest by Mercedes.
The beautiful styling carries on inside. The seats are just delightful. Half leather and Alcantara sports seats with red stitching and red accents. They hold you in place and are electrically adjustable so you can get yourself in the perfect position at the push of a few buttons on the door card. In your hands is this flat-bottomed half leather and Alcantara multifunctional steering wheel with aluminium spokes and the “AMG” logo that looks and feels fantastic and at your feet are some lovely aluminium rubber-topper sports pedals which are always ready unleash some real forward and stopping power. Of course, there’s an infotainment screen and it’s controlled by the small scroll wheel behind your gear selector. It has everything you’d expect; SatNav, Bluetooth Media, Radio and vehicle settings, but it also has an awesome set of dials that give you live reading of how much horsepower you’re producing, your oil temperature and your engine temperature. The whole interior consists of only the highest materials and builds quality.
What’s not to love about a hatchback with a 2.0 turbocharged engine, 4-wheel drive, 376hp and an absolutely incredible dual-clutch gearbox? The car drives so effortlessly when in comfort mode but, having the dynamic pack, there are 4 much more fun modes to choose from; sport, sport plus, individual and…the optional race giving you LSD and harder damper settings. In comfort, the steering is light, the throttle is easy and it’s a real pleasure to drive. The individual mode lets you customize each setting to suit your drive so you can easily switch between a set mode and your personal one. Each mode alters the steering, suspension and customises the ESP and transmission evidently turning the car more and more into an absolute demon on the track.
